My gf and I really enjoy this place. It's a good option for Chinese food and it isn't toooooo expensive. I'd recommend the garlic noodles and the pork soup dumplings. Great service

Authentic and best chinese food in Davis. Great portion sizes for the price. The dry fry chow fun is very flavorful. The pork soup dumblings are great too but the broth is a little too sweet than normal.

I was quite impressed with the service and food that Yang Kee Dumpling provided. Originally my mother in law (MIL) told me they don't take reservations, and then when we arrived, we found out that they do have Yelp Waitlist. We were seated 5 minutes sooner than Yelp's Waitlist predicted.

We ordered the Xiao Long Bao (XLB) - Pork Soup Dumplings, Pan Fry Pork Buns, Steamed Salted Egg Custard Bao, Hong Kong (HK) Shumai, Wonton with chili oil, Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic, Salt Pepper Spare Ribs, Cubed Beef Steak, Hong Kong Milk Tea, Jasmine tea, and Chrysanthmum tea. It was nice to see the XLB made fresh.

XLB was tasty, with soup within. Pan Fry Pork Buns also came with soup within, with some of the chili oil (which tasted homemade with a kick) and sauce. Careful not to get burned! The wonton with chili oil came packed with flavor, along with the salt pepper spare ribs, and cubed beef steak. Green beans with the HK Shumai were okay - tasted as they should. The Steeamed Salted Egg Custard Bao would be best to have for last, as it had the combination flavors of savory and sweet. Hong Kong Milk tea came out with a sugar mold of a cow holding a bao bun which was super cute, and the tea was super strong. The tea was charged per cup/person. Water was free.

Our party of 6 (+1 if you count the baby in my stomach) enjoyed everything. They had 2 universal female/male bathrooms and while waiting to go use those, they had stacks of supplies against the wall. We were checked on frequently to see how the table was doing. Plaza had plentiful parking.

The only thing I will warn is that the seats were kind of hard - as all wood; which I'm more sensitive to these days. Otherwise I wouldn't mind coming here again.

So yummy!! Get the Black Pepper dumplings! My family and I went here and the food was so delicious!

Freshest, best dumplings I've had in a long time. Reasonable wait, fast services, rolling table service. I wish we lived closer because we'd be there all the time.

I was craving dim sum and wanted to introduce good dim sum to my friends who have never tried it. My mom recommended this place to me, so I wanted to try it for myself. I was very happy with the service there. Our waiter was super nice and very helpful. The food came out at a good time and was so fresh and delicious. I love that the food was tasty and not super greasy unlike some other dim sum spots. The place was super clean and I love that you can see the cooks make all the dishes from scratch especially the dim sum! I 10/10 would recommend this place! It's so delicious!

Affordable price! And everything was delicious I would highly recommend the garlic noodles! Its super yummy

Service is like every other place not too attentive because honestly it had nothing to be attentive that much while eating dimsum

Food and service was great! We had the Pork soup dumpling, Steam bbq pork bao, Pork chive dumpling, Hk shomai, Hk noodle, Green beans, Salt pepper short rib and Egg tart. Be prepared for a wait as this is a popular place.

I almost don't want to review this because I don't want the secret to get out! This place is so delicious. Whenever I come to Davis, my son and I hit this spot. Their dumplings are delicious and I'm a huge fan of the garlic noodles with beef. Their garlic green beans are truly perfect. Yum.

Came here on a Saturday evening and we waited like 40-50 minutes for it. When we finally sat down to try the food we realized the wait was totally worth it. The food was prepared with so much care and quality. My favorites were the shrimp hargow and the gravy chow fun. But oh man the star of the night was the egg tarts. I'm not an egg tart person but a friend urged us to get the egg tarts saying it is a must try. Boy was he right.... First bite and both my partner and I went wide eyed and exclaimed "wow". The outer crust was so flaky and the inside was so light. Best egg tarts I've ever had so far!! Def a gem in Davis

Everything was so good! We really enjoy the luffa shrimp dumplings, so juicy and savory. There was a waiting before they opened on a Sunday morning, you can tell how great place this is. We tried the Roseville location and wanted to try their OG and it didn't disappoint!!

I like the fact you see the team making the dumplings in house. I went when they were first open and the food and service were A+. I noticed the word got out so you may want to call in advance now to put your name on the list. This way you can avoid the wait. But I must say, quality place for Davis.

Food is delicious, service is fast and friendly, restaurant ambiance is welcoming and it's fun to watch them make dumplings thru the glass. Very kid friendly. Recommend!

This place stays my favorite dumpling place. Revisited recently and ordered (for family of 4- 2 adults, 2 kids):

Crab pork soup dumpling. It was good but I can do without it next time.
Har gow. Good.
Shumai. Good.
Salt pepper spare ribs. Good.
Shrimp chow mein. Very good. My kids love it.
Chrysanthemum tea. Husband loves this.
Hk milk tea. I love this.

Excited to try this place after trying the one in Roseville. A small line forms before they opened. We tried the pork soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns, sautéed green beans, and salt pepper spare ribs, and their beef chow fun. Everything was delicious. Pork soup dumplings were full of soup and pairs well with their sauces. Pan fried pork buns seem a bit smaller than the other location. Beef chow fun was not too salty. We also got to try their shrimp loofah soup dumplings...our new favorite!

I've tried coming here a couple times and finally was able to dine in today for lunch! The service was quick and friendly. I love how the customers are able to see the kitchen from the dining area. Don't even get me started with the food!! I had the garlic noodles with beef and soup dumplings they were delicious and I will definitely be going back!

Yang Kee Dumpling is a quality establishment that produces high quality service and food. For these reasons I rate this place 5 stars. The ambiance caters towards all types of different customers for a nice and lively sit down restaurant. In terms of the food, I found that the pork soup dumplings had a bold yet not too overwhelming flavor which I found very enjoyable. However, the skin of the dumplings were a bit too thick taking away from the texture in a high quality soup dumpling. The noodles in the gravy chow fun produced a soft and bouncy texture that soaked the sauce very well. In addition, the vegetables and other garnishes complimented the dish very well. I felt the sauce left me desiring a deeper and richer flavor. Nevertheless, I think these dishes are definitely worth a try and could suit the taste of each individual differently.

Food was great, everything tastes yummy and reasonable price. Server was constantly checking on us, excellent service, would go back again soon!

Excellent variety of dim sum styles. Friendly service. Young and hip college students plus families. You must get to know the unique reservation system they use. Noise levels are average.

YES we made the 30-40 minute drive to Davis to try this restaurant! We made sure to put our name on the yelp waitlist because it gets sooooo busy. Ordered a bunch. But can't go wrong with the soup dumplings/pan fried bun! A new thing is we ordered honey walnut shrimp for once and theirs was soo flavorful! My favorite was the dumpling wrapped sticky rice. I love the sticky texture and how flavorful it was. They are verrrry accommodating to children because they had food sets for them. Service was quick and our server was nice. The restaurant was pretty packed and seemed tight but they make use of the space well.

AMAZING! If you're looking for authentic Chinese dumplings this is the PLACE! I've ordered almost all the dumplings and they're all so delicious and well made. The soup dumplings are my favorite! Great service, fast and friendly. Lots of seating for a smaller place.

Best dumplings in Davis. Service is fast and efficiency, the food is amazing. This is a place where you with people that are open to share and experience food

Thank you Yelpers for helping me find this delicious dim sum place by accident! I was randomly looking for any restaurant address in Davis and I thought what the heck....let's try it! What won me over is that that have sautéed pea sprouts which are my fav. It's not on the menu and the nice waiter told me about it when I asked if they had any other vegetables other than green beans on the menu. Thank goodness I asked! It's quite pricey at $20, but so yummy!

We also ordered siomai, Shanghai siomai, chive dumplings, chili oil wontons, and shrimp fried rice. We enjoyed everything and the portions were a good size. I especially enjoyed my HK milk tea that had a cow shaped ice figure. So cute and the drink reminded me of my favorite milk tea I used to get at Tea Station in Newark many years ago (sadly they closed).

Amazing Food, wish it was closer so we could go more often! Can you please open another spot in the Vallejo/Benicia area?!

Wonderful foodie experience in Davis Ca. Definitely recommend Yelp!! Reservations for this delicious and delightful restaurant

Love this place and will come here anytime we have soccer tournaments in Davis or Rancho. Do not pass this up if you have a Tesla! Plenty of charging stations while you enjoy some great food. I highly recommend you add your name to the waitlist when you are about 20-30 out to avoid the massive wait.

My favorite place to get Chinese food in Davis. Their Xiao Long Baos are amazing and so flavorful. All their food is delicious and the service is fast so food comes quickly. There is usually a line and usually pretty packed so I'd try to make a reservation, but the wait time was only 20 mins when I went on a Saturday for brunch.

Short wait without reservations for Monday night dinner.

Sauteed string beans with black bean sauce was served first. The flavors were very nice. The beans had a nice snap. We were a party of 2, but the serving size is quite a lot and could probably feed 3-4.

Wonton in chili oil were 12 pieces so the size is smaller than what you would find in wonton soup. More filling than wrapper made a nice ratio.

HK shumai was ok compared to the other selections.

Salt and pepper fish was nice and crispy. We were surprised how each piece retained its heat during the course of the meal.

Yang Chow fried rice was the last item and it did not disappoint. This rice and the string beans were the stars of the show.

Ambiance is casual. We were seated at a small table, which was limited to fit all five items. We had to consolidate our entrees into shared plates.

We had dumplings during our previous visits, which were top notch and savory.

This spot is highly recommended. We will return again and stick with the obvious stars: dumplings.

My friend and I visited Yang Kee Dumplings in Davis, and we had a good experience! We arrived right at 11 am when it opened, and it was pleasantly empty, which we appreciated. However, as soon as we sat down and placed our orders, the restaurant quickly filled up. We were grateful to have gotten in before the rush! I would recommend arriving right when it opens to avoid the crowds.

We ordered Chicken Chow Fun, Har Gow, Hong Kong Style Shiu Mai, and Soup Dumplings. Everything was delicious!

Chow fun was flavorful, the Har Gow and Shiu Mai were perfectly steamed, and the Soup Dumplings were a real treat with their savory broth.

The service was friendly and attentive, making our meal even better.

Would definitely come back whenever I feel the dimsum cravings again!

came on a Thursday night and it was poppin . ur able to join the yelp waitlist when ur at least 3 miles away? i forgot how far you gotta be from the actual restaurant to join the waitlist, but I highly recommend doing so especially if u r with hella people. there were 5 of us in our group and despite it being busy, we were able to sit right away (again due to joining the waitlist as soon as I could)!

since the restaurant itself is quite small we were sat at two 2 top tables pushed together, and one of the homies had to pull up a chair at the end of one of the tables (if that makes any sense lol). We weren't trippin about squeezing in tho, so if u tend to be picky about where u get seated when u go out to eat then pls consider this before coming here LMAO.

we were able to order right away and the food came out hella quick despite it being hella busy that night. everything that we ordered was bussin, and everyone's favorite was the chili oil wontons (we almost ran it back to order it for the 2 time).

ALSO: the food is all served family style, so if u ain't ever been to a place like this before it's better to get hella dishes for everyone at the table to share n try . u got no business eating a big ass platter all to yourself when everything here is good!!

The food has been consistently great here--it feels clean, not very greasy, and of course it's super tasty. Just quality Chinese food. The service has always been friendly too. So glad that a restaurant of big-city level quality is thriving in Davis!

Super high quality dumplings. Great service. Super fresh and made to order in an open kitchen. Loved it.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is authentic Chinese food. The string beans and noodle dishes are delicious. The service is okay depending on the time you go. Ambiance is casual. Buy get their early.

My family and I LOVE Yang Kee. There is always a line to get on the waitlist, and it is quite hard to snatch a table when it is busy, but it is so worth it. The service is quick and efficient, and they get you everything you need. The food is absolutely delicious, and you can watch the dumplings being made behind glass while you eat. The restaurant itself is well-lit and nicely decorated, and comfortable to sit in.

Very authentic Chinese food. Ordered pork soup dumpling, Saliva chicken, Cumin lamb. Even my Russian friend liked the food a lot.

Food quality is superb here and not a single bit inferior to DTF. You taste the freshness of ingredients, not overpowering flavors of soy sauce or oyster sauce commonly found in Asian restaurants. The restaurant's service is friendly and professional. We love how we could join their waitlist on Yelp, as we live about 2 hours away and visit Yang Kee every time we are on our way back home from Tahoe. Highly highly recommend this place if you are nearby and crave DTF :)

SO GOOD! I had the pork soup dumplings, pork dumplings w/ chives, & black pepper beef dumplings and they all tasted really great! The dough was especially very good and had a nice thick texture !

Awesome food and they make their dim sum in house. There was a waitlist so make sure to get in line on the Yelp app first. Def a great place for good dim sum and Chinese plates

Food is always soooo good here! I came with a group of 5 and we loved everything that we ordered. We got salt and pepper fish filet (9/10), garlic noodles with beef (10/10), pork XLB (8/10), pork pan fried dumpling (10/10), singapore noodles (7/10) and chili oil wonton (7/10).

Servers are really kind and accommodating. One order came out really late so the server didn't include that in the bill!

The restaurant itself is really spacious and always seems to have a waitlist. Fortunately, there's a lot of seating so I don't remember ever having to wait too long to get seated. The food comes out relatively fast after you order.

Cool little restaurant tucked in the back corner of a shopping plaza. We came on a weeknight before the dinner rush so we didn't have to wait. As someone who lives in an area where access to dim sum is FEW and FAR between; my bestie and I were pleasantly surprised to find this gem, 30 minutes away from home! The staff was VERY attentive. They were quick to take our order as soon as we sat down. You can tell that their objective was to get you in and out promptly as they seemed a little annoyed that we had asked for a couple of minutes to look over the menu, after all it was our first time. It was cool to see their open kitchen layout. It was amazing to watch the quickness they were filling and twisting the dough into the dumplings. The dishes were so tasty! They were a little on the pricey side, and the portion size seemed small, but it was all worth it. I can't wait to go back to try more of their other dumplings.

My partner and I stopped by on a Friday afternoon is Yang Kee was bustling with customers.

We ordered four dishes: XLB, Har Gow, Dry Chow Fun and Garlic Green beans. All of the dishes were delicious and not oily at all! We didn't order it, but it seemed like the salt and pepper pork was popular and portions were really good!

I loved how festive YK was in their decorations, especially around LNY time. I also really liked the fact that you're able to see the chefs making the dumplings fresh!
