The Corner Hotpot
皇城根儿铜锅涮肉

The authentic old Beijing cooper hot pot is renowned as being capable of “boiling all daintiness from land and sea”. The Corner Hotpot carries forward this historical Beijing cuisine suited for both the old and young. As the first restaurant of this kind to enter the Vancouver culinary market, it provides an opportunity for local diners from multiple backgrounds to understand and love the inclusive and unique Beijing cuisine culture.

A Rare Authentic Flavor

The restaurant presents the most authentic Beijing-style flavor of instant-boiled meat. With the clear soup boiling in the sizzling copper pot, extremely fresh top-quality ingredients are used to convey the tender and fresh flavors that have passed down from generation to generation.

There are many fastidious processes for old Beijing-style hot pots. The traditional clear soup base looks simple. Made of purified water and a few base spices like shallot and ginger, it gives off a fresh and fragrant aroma without contaminating the original flavor of the meat. Choosing such a simplistic clear soup base means the ingredients of the restaurant must be of top quality, which is rarely seen in the locality.

The restaurant offers a variety of carefully selected ingredients, with Fresh Lamb Roll being the most popular one. Delivered from the slaughter house on the daily basis, it is absolutely fresh and top graded. The lamb rolls are sliced on the spot to ensure clear grains and top-grade tender and soft texture after simply dipping into the soup for a few seconds, and it is not muttony at all.

Lamb Backbone & Leg Bones in Special Soup has a slightly heavier taste and caters to the preference of young consumers. Complemented by side dishes, the fresh lamb is pulpy, flavored and spicy.

The combination of irresistible cuisine and Beijing-style furnishings make customers feel as if they were enjoying hot pots right in the imperial city of Beijing.

A Pioneer Practicing the Concept of Inheritance
Speaking of his aspiration to create the business, Mr. Bao, the owner, said that he noticed that there hadn’t been an authentic Beijing-style restaurant in Vancouver for years and thus wanted to bring the truly traditional and authentic cuisine to diners from there and even the entire North America.

Boldness and Strength are Needed to Do the Undoable

Mr. Bao strives to reproduce the most authentic Beijing flavor amid every aspect of the restaurant’s operation. High-level, standardized food varieties and services have ensured stable offerings and high acclamations from customers.

In less than one year, The Corner Hotpot has already become a perfect representative of Beijing cuisine and culture in the culinary industry of Vancouver.
