This place was phenomenal! Arrived a little after 4pm on a Sunday and beat the dinner rush. We were seated outdoors in their adorable patio area. Server was prompt, friendly, and checked in throughout the meal. Great ambience and impressed all around.
Food was unlike any other! Accept that you're going to pay some $$ at this place and just enjoy it all! Crispy Jumbo Shrimp was godly as well as the pork ribs. The presentation and sauces were to die for. Peking duck was well-done and the Mushroom tofu pot rounded out the meal.
Definitely give this place a try for a celebratory meal or night out!
This was our first meal back after NiHao shut down to redesign their menu. While I loved the old concept, the new one was just as great!
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the inside is beautiful. We were sat all the way at the top, which was our first time, and we loved it. It was a little chilly at first but we settled in nicely.
We started with two dishes. The first was the Osmanthus Honey Pork Ribs, which were soooo tender and flavorful. The sauce was delicious and it was a delicious and filling way to start the meal. We also had the Salt and Pepper Crispy Fried Calamari, which was very tasty and really light compared to the ribs, a nice complement.
For main entrees, we had the Mapo Tofu and Chongqing Dry Fried Red Pepper Chicken. We totally forgot to order a side of rice - make sure you do! Even without the rice (how very low carb of us), everything was amazing. So well spiced, the flavors meshed together perfectly, and every bite was as good as the last.
We ended with the Golden Pears for dessert, which were as gorgeous and impressive as they were scrumptious, but not overbearingly sweet.
In all, we had such an amazing dinner and we cannot wait to come back!
Good, consistent food for delivery. Would love to try the restaurant but haven't yet. Three or four delivery orders have all been very good. Would recommend!
Appearances are deceiving. From the outside Ni Hao doesn't look like much, once inside it is what a restaurant should be. Great service. Options of downstairs, upstairs or the bar. And food that is unique, fun and tasty.
The soup with the birds nest cover made of fried, fried rice doming the soup and becoming soup crunchies was my favorite.
Chef Peter Chang's NiHao Baltimore offers delicious asian fare. The restaurant is very casual, not at all fancy, prices seem steep but when you get your food you start to understand. I ordered Stir Fried Beef Tenderloin ($29) and Steamed Pork Dumplings ($11).
Both were excellent and with healthy sized portions.
Staff was friendly and attentive. Great experience all around. Free street parking within a block was available.
We're so lucky to have this James Beard award winning restaurant in our neighborhood! House made noodles, fresh dim sum, you can't go wrong. I would drive to New York for this quality and now it's right in my neighborhood!
Loved this place! we got a few items off their dim sum and vegan menu to try, including the garlic eggplant, dry fried green beans, pork & crab soup dumplings, dry fried cauliflower (not pictured), and crystal shrimp soup dumplings (not pictured). Favorites were definitely the eggplant and the soup dumplings. We will be back to try their meat and noodle dishes.
We sat inside but it looks like they have a cute outdoor seating area on their back patio as well!
When I first tried this place, I would have given it 2-3 stars. The food was hit or miss, the drinks were ok, and it was quite expensive. But then they closed in early 2023 and redid their menu and now i am happy to say that I can give it 5 stars. We have been back several times and tried a variety of dishes and it is consistently delicious now. I also like that they have Chinese rice beers. They're pricey ($11 or so) but a delicious treat! Some of my favorite dishes have been the cold noodles, garlic cucumber roll, Peking duck, and Mapo tofu (although I did not find it to be that spicy).
Update: we went for dim sum this weekend, and the food was solid as usual, but the egg custard bun was phenomenal!!!
Okay, NiHao definitely lives up to the hype. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the interior is thoughtfully decorated. We sat upstairs and ordered a few drinks, some tea, and a bunch of plates. My friends recommended we get three to four dishes to share saying that the portion sizes were reasonable, and it was easy to overorder since everything on the menu looks so amazing. They were right! Three dishes for three people and we had plenty of leftovers. It was the perfect amount of food.
We got the shrimp dumplings, the cold noodles, and the fried fish. Holey moley! Everything was great. If you love spicy food, you're going to love this place. My drink even came in a little panda cup which was adorable - although I was told this drink will be retired from the menu fairly soon as they roll out their fall/winter cocktails. The one thing that I was slightly disappointed in was the snickerdoodle cookie. My friend raved about these cookies but then commented about how this batch was disappointing to him too. It was a bit dry and lacking flavor so I guess it just depends what day you go.
I was told this place is known for using traditional Chinese ingredients in creative, non-traditional ways and I really love that! I will definitely be back for more from NiHao.
Finally checked out NiHao and was very impressed! The restaurants first floor is on the smaller side, but there is plenty of seating upstairs, with a relaxed atmosphere. We went on a Friday night and were immediately met with friendly and fast service- I would recommend making a reservation as this place gains in popularity. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, kong pao chicken, and grandmas braised pork. The dumplings were delicious and flavorful (be careful not to burn your mouth) and the best soup dumplings I've had in Baltimore! The kong pao chicken was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and the onion added so much flavor. The braised pork belly came with bok choy, peppers, and mushrooms and the sauce was so sweet and delicious. Overall, the food and service were wonderful and I am looking forward to coming back and trying out the rest of their menu!
Second time here, and it just keeps getting better.
It has been months since we last came to NiHao so the menu was a little different. First off, their portion sizes and prices are very very reasonable. It's all to share. They have great vegetarian and non veg options. In my opinion, the menu has just the right number of items - it doesn't overwhelm you and you can try a little bit of most things if you go as a group. I loved their zhong noodles. I also loved their matcha terrine cake. Hands down, the best dish of the night was the peking duck. I'm used to eating this with pancakes, but NiHao does their own take on it (of course) with whole wheat buns + sweet & savoury sauces. It's fantastic. We will definitely be going back.
P.S. Service is always fantastic.
The dining experience at NiHao was great! We had a reservation and were promptly seated. We did notice patio seating upon arrival so requested that which they were able to accommodate.
They have a pretty vegetarian/vegan friendly menu in addition to meat options. Also great drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic.
They did have a tasting menu for 2 for $90 but we opted to get 4 dishes and share it. We got the shrimp dumplings with pineapple xo and herb sauce, caramelized cauliflower, crispy Noodles with chicken veggies and oyster sauce and the crispy spicy mala fish. Honestly I can't really pick a favorite, everything was great. One weird thing was having to order a side of rice separately, as that does not come with what are definitely more entrée ish dishes.
Still would definitely recommend checking this place out!
The interior of this place is pretty eclectic and has a unique, laidback vibe. Do make a reservation if you're planning to dine here, since we were turned away on a weeknight because they were full for the night. We went on a Friday night when it was busy but didn't feel packed because the tables are spaced pretty far apart with a lot of open floor space. Service was quick and friendly. We tried the baijiu, which is not for the faint of heart. The dishes were very flavorful, either with tasty sauce or heavy seasoning. The veggies were cooked well with crunch and the bass was nicely tender. We would go back to try other dishes.
