A great and classy dining experience from end-to-end - definitely is better than the current 3.5 star rating. Service was great too! Our tea kettle was always full, and we were shown the wagyu prior to it being sent back to the grill.
Firstly, the taro chips and some lightly pickled radish and apple came out, which was free and very nice. The crispness of both were great to snack on and to cleanse the palate between dishes. They lasted the entire meal too; there's more in the cups than it looks.
Before all the meat came, we had the complimentary tea, king salmon sashimi, green salad, and steamed egg. The tea(!) and the steamed egg stands out as some of the best I've had - I'd definitely share the egg with another person as a small snack if you're planning on getting some others.
For the core of the meal, we ordered a set with the yaki beef rib and 2 Wagyu items (5oz of US Wagyu, and 6oz of A5 Hida Wagyu). They came out in that order, which was nice to enjoy in ascending quality. Their sauce was particularly good on the wagyu pieces with some rice! 5 and 6 ounces of wagyu doesn't sound like a lot, but given the incredible marbling and richness, you won't want much more than that for 2 people.
All in all, the little details of Kanae was what stood out for us: the tea quality, the pacing of all dishes from apps to meat, and the service. High-quality wagyu is going to be great anywhere, but at Kanae, you get to sit through a really enjoyable dining experience at reasonable prices for the quality.
Must Order: Steamed Egg, Hida A5 Flap Rib (preferably in the set)

This place definitely does not deserve the low ratings they are getting and I would recommend dining in for the full experience. From start to end, everything went perfectly. The staff was super friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our tea and even showing us the wagyu before they cooked it.
The first thing that really caught my attention was the tea. It was way different from any tea I've gotten at restaurants, very light, fragrant, and unique. I really enjoyed it. My friend and I ordered one of their meat combos with US Wagyu (5oz), Yaki Beef Rib, and Hida A5 Wagyu Flap Rib (5oz) which was $158. We also got the steamed egg with crab and the king salmon sashimi. The quality of everything was amazing, from the softest, silkiest steamed egg I've ever had to the insane marbling of the A5 Wagyu.
The biggest thing that stood out to me was the pacing of each dish. They gave us each dish one after another which really let us enjoy each one individually instead of scramming to eat all of them before they cooled down. With the meat, they started out giving us the yaki beef rib which was seasoned well and delicious. After we finished that, they served us the US Wagyu which was so soft and cooked perfectly. When we thought things couldn't get any better, they came out with the A5 Wagyu which is just heaven. So buttery, literally melting in your mouth.
Everything was so meticulous and purposeful that you could tell they put a lot of thought and effort into it. Highly recommend, I cannot say enough good things.

The food was actually really good!!! I was skeptical since Yelp review wasn't that good.
The had foi gra and king crab sushi as part of the set. The tuna belly was bit too rich for my liking, but very fresh! Their steak was really good! But we asked for medium rare, it came a bit medium.
The service was good, there weren't many ppl there on a Tuesday at lunch time which we loved. It was very spacious which accommodated big strollers etc.

Kanae Yakiniku has been on my want to go list for sooo longFinally ordered a sushi combo for delivery today! Super excited  The King Salmon Oshi is a bomb! Trust me, you must order it if you love aburi oshi  The pressed rice has a good moisture texture, and the mayo goes so well with the fatty king salmon. FYI King Salmon is Kanae's specialty item, it melts in your mouth. Other than King Salmon Oshi, I would definitely recommend the Hotate aburi. The scallop sashimi is just fresh and tasty. I would like to go again, hopefully COVID will get better soon so that I can dine-in and try their Wagyu!

I like this Japanese restaurant very much, there are many parking spaces downstairs at night, the restaurant is big and clean, and there are 2 private rooms. The restaurant will always provide some fresh dishes according to the season, so that people can always find freshness. There are a lot of precious seafood here, and there are also relatively cheap lunch boxes. I love to bring family and friends to dinner.

Service: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Price: 3/5 (it more on the pricier end of dining)
Service quality excellent and wait staff was very attentive and friendly.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm and relaxing also felt nice that they started diming down the lights not sure if that was everyday thing.
The food was exceptionally good and the amount given was generous. Sadly I didn't get a chance to try their sashimi but from their quality of their other food. You can expect certain quality.
Pricier than your average Japanese restaurant but the food quality was there.
Until next time.

We ordered the Chinese New Year combo for four with extra lobster and king crab sashimi combo on the side. The sashimis are yummy and the other food from the combo are delicious!!! I love their hand made dessert the most lol. Plus the amount of food is more than enough for four people. We packed quite a bit to go. Will definitely go there again to try their regular menu.

Wonderful experience at this place tonight :D We try the Japanese Fish hot pot combo today, it comes with Sashimi and vegetable platter. Rich flavour fish soup with tofu and wanyu beef slice, brought me to the heaven once again 😍😍Recommended to everyone who love authentic Japanese cuisine.

The service there is great and the environment is clean! Waiters and waitresses are nice and friendly! Food is fresh and delicious; especially their wagyu , aburi and sashimi! Also, you don't have to bbq the meat yourself!
