Reviews:
Best buffet in Sacramento by far.
They do offer a senior discount if you ask for it.
We go for the hot and sour soup and the sushi..
my gal loves their salmon. Their lunch prices are fairly reasonable ...so we go for lunch. Hint skip eating breakfast if you go for lunch here.
My daughter brought us here for lunch on Friday. Looking at the amount of cars, I thought we would have to wait. NOPE, no wait! There was a line of people but it was the line to pay before entering.
It was $15 pp for lunch. You get a LOTof choices ! I'm on the Carnivore Diet so basically I can only eat meat, dairy, and seafood. I thought I wouldn't have many choices but that wasn't the case.
I had sashimi, nigiri w/o the rice, fried shrimp, and some meat and seafood from the hibachi. Everything was well stocked and nothing was ever empty for too long.
There was a wide variety for everyone. There's something for everyone! There were fries, pizzas, wings, Chinese food, sushi, Dim Sum, desserts, salads, fresh fruit, pasta, etc!
You can't walk away hungry here !!
Went for lunch today, $15 for weekday lunch, M-F. Weekends are $21.99 all day with dinner items.
Service: good. Got our water and hot tea ($2.50 for a whole pot w a tea bag so we shared it) quickly. Food was refilled constantly bc they have a mic at ea station so the staff could shout out what was needed asap.
Food: not bad for a buffet. The sushi would have been good but it was cold, so i probably won't get that again even though they even had some sushi with unagi. Tonsss of variety. Lots of desserts. Some American food. Lots of Asian dishes.
Tons of seating, would be good for large groups. They had sections so they could potentially section off an area for a small party. Clean.
Lots of options for pescatarians.
I would say options for vegetarians and vegan are limited but u could always make your own noodle dish w the hibachi grill, fresh made to order with whatever u want in it, including shrimp.
Absolute deliciousness! We went on Saturday afternoon, in between the lunch and dinner rush. For $22/person + $3 for soda with unlimited refills (weekend all-day dinner price), this place is hard to beat.
I've been eyeing this place ever since I saved it to my collection and the photos that everyone posted from their reviews made my mouth water every time.
You pay for your buffet before you get seated, which we liked. While it was busy in the foyer, the line moved quickly and we were soon on our way to our table. Service was fast and we got our soda refills as needed. Water is free.
I have always been skeptical of buffets that advertise sushi, especially with such high volume, but this place makes fresh sushi right in front of you, and you can tell they pay good attention to their craft. The workers were putting out fresh rolls every few minutes, and not just plain old rolls, but ones garnished with sriracha aioli, avocado, tempura crumble, etc. I even got some nigiri and the sashimi was not fishy at all.
In addition, the hot food was kept piping hot, and sometimes there are issues with food safety at buffets, but not here. One of my favorite hot food items was the Cajun seasoned tilapia, I kept going back for seconds! My husband loved the cheesy mussels and Cajun shrimp. I also tried the salt and pepper crab, which was cooked perfectly and had a good amount of meat. We were pleasantly surprised by the pepper-crusted steak that they had, which we self-carved. It was juicy and not overcooked at all.
We stopped by the Hibachi grill for a change of pace and that did not disappoint. We chose what we wanted for our plate, and the food was promptly cooked in front of us on a flat top grill. I added garlic and it was so good! My husband and I both got beef and shrimp, both of which were not overcooked at all, but rather juicy and seasoned perfectly.
Dessert wasn't out of the ordinary, but it was still quite good and the fruit was fresh. The lime sherbet was great, and we loved the little cakes they had.
While it was pretty loud, that was to be expected for a Saturday afternoon, and we were glad we stopped in between the lunch and dinner rush, because as soon as we finished, there was a line out the door. We'd love to come back on a weekday when we can.
Overall, do not sleep on this establishment. The quality control of the food is there, and even the bathrooms were nice and clean (and had a fresh smell from the air fresheners they used).
This place will definitely be added to one of our rotating restaurants that we like to frequent. Hibachi Buffet, we will be back!
For the price of 25$ a person, it's great! So many options including the usual buffet. Mongolian grill area, and the sushi bar. The gratuity is included in the bill (10%). You walk in and pay at the register, then they give you a number on your receipt that they call out. Once they call your number, then they take you to a table and you're good to go.
Hooray, an AYCE Chinese and sushi buffet filled the long vacant China Buffet building. I'm very glad that the City voted to allow dining or shopping in this building as a car wash or gas station does not fit.
[Update 24+ hours later = my digestive system told me they're handling the food correctly so I'm keeping my review as 5 stars for what it is!]
The service was pretty good. Either ensure someone is always at your table to guard treats not finished (i.e. going back for a plate after grabbing hot & sour soup), or leave your food pushed up against the wall with a napkin over it. I thought I pushed my soup cup far enough away behind my water and next to my utensils while my empty plate was at the edge closest to the aisle, but they still took it!
Restroom was ok. Extremely tiny stalls with unpleasant locks (must touch it multiple times to lock) and a nonsense lid for the trash opening. Unsure if it was the sewer/restroom or patrons that caused the gross urine smell in the dining area to the right but I'll request to sit elsewhere if I shall return. Amazing (and gross) people watching at the disabled patron seating booth. LOL!
Staff were mostly very pleasant. I'll probably return the next time I have an urge to gorge. I recommend that you cruise all offerings and make a plan. Some items are placed in areas you wouldn't expect. Like fried donut is a dessert but because it's warm, it isn't with the desserts. Same with octopus - it's near the cold jello not sushi.
Finally got to check out this trendy buffet. Parking lot is shared with restaurant next door so lot is packed. We went about 6pm on a Sunday and the line was out the door but moved quickly. Cost included buffet/hibachi, extra cost for drinks (only 3 refills). Buffet had a ton of options constantly being refilled. The sushi was fresh but rolls mainly made of imitation crab. Hibachi was delicious but you needed to get in line to get your order made and at times line could be very long. Servers were quick to dispose of dirty plates. Overall would be back.
A wide variety of food with a great atmosphere. Not everything is seafood here, there are some chicken options. I do recommend coming here before the crowd even on weekdays when we were there. The parking lot will fill up.
This is the best buffet ever!!! They have EVERYTHING fresh on rotation (I was there for 1.5hour) so things are rarely out. EVEN THEIR AMAZINGLY DELICOUS OYSTER. I'd come back and there's a fresh batch every time. And NO not the big cheaper oysters. But the smaller (maybe Kumamoto?) oysters. So delicious. And their sushi's selections... ?. Their dessert...
I am especially happy with their quick service in bring food and clearing tables. The restaurant is clean but you can definitely tell they're feeding a village in frenzy there. Love it love it love love love it. take my money I don't care. FINALLY A reasonable buffet that's solid after the pandemic.
A definite "RETURN" as this is a delicious, attentive service, reasonably priced for ALL the fresh, continually refreshed and filled entrees set in a very detailed Asian decor! If you get those coupons in the mailer, look for theirs as you get 20% off the $14.99 luncheon buffet- what a steal!- and seniors get 10% off anytime! There's a good variety of fresh produce of every kind and such warm, hospitable staff that are there attending to your needs before you even need it-extra napkins, water and drink refills, etc. The extra plus is that there are banquet rooms for small to large parties which are discreetely tucked away in areas of the huge restaurant great and great for celebrations!
Wow best buffet in a long time!!!!!! Lunch is the best!!!
Super packed so come early and get ready to eat
This buffet is fantastic and so nostalgic of my childhood! It's hard to find a Chinese buffet now days, let alone a GOOD one that isn't overpriced. The prices are incredibly reasonable.
This restaurant is super clean and can fit a good amount of people (and they refill dishes often)
I hope the quality and price remain the same for a while!
Can't wait to come back
Gotta hand it to the staff. We came for dinner and there was already a large party starting. The two ladies in the front were welcoming and patient as we paid for 4 adults and 1 kid - our 2 year old was free. We were seated in 5 minutes and the interior went on and on. Pretty decor, clean tables, and fresh food. We appreciate our busser (Lucy?) for working hard and checking on us often.
There were multiple sushi chefs and a hibachi station with unique options like steak and udon noodles. Someone was refilling trays every few minutes. My favorite was the crab and my daughter loved the crawdads.
What could've easily been a hectic experience, turned out to be so much better. I really hope they get as much help as they need and survive this economy. It's a good quality buffet and we'd love to come back with the grandparents next time.
Good selection, quick working staff, lots of space. Seats up to 500 guests
Tasty food for $22
First time to try this. Oh wow! There's a lot of people lined up and waiting like forever! Looks like a craze inside despite weather and time of the night. Food choices were great. Overall, must repeat for me!
Came here to get some delicious food and to leave full and it did not disappoint..yummy.I first got fresh hot pot stickers, stuffed potato skins yum..I had some fried shrimp orange chicken..Then ate and went back for some hot and spicy chicken, sushi rolls, crabs, crawfish beef and broccoli..yum..Then I took a final trip for some desserts..They were amazing tiny donut things to Brownies to ice cream and so much more..They also had a Hibachi side I didn't make to from being so full. The service was great seated in minutes. The restaurant was super clean and was not over crowded at all.
Tons of delicious options in a fast-paced, chaotic atmosphere. The food was better than you'd expect from a busy buffet, and quite frankly, our server was surprisingly efficient refilling waters and clearing dirty plates. Workers replenished food at the buffet quickly. Overall, I was impressed.
Yummy Yummy..If you like sushi and Hibachi Grill under one roof this is your spot..So many different meats to choose from..When you walk into this restaurant it's huge the parking is plenty and food was so good. I like my sushi raw lol and they had so many rolls to choose from yum..You have so many choices of what to eat..If you like good food look no further...yum yum
The food and service are great! We always order from this restaurant and they always delivered on time, highly highly recommended!
Food is fresh and lots of food selections. I will drive again for 2hrs just to eat here..
I came here on a weekday evening and the parking lot was packed. When we entered no one was waiting to get seated and we were able to get seated right away. It was really busy inside but our waiter was able to get to us quickly. There was a great variety of food but my favorites were the hibachi station and the sushi. The chefs make sushi non stop so if you don't see what you want, I suggest checking back in a few minutes. Overall, even though it is really busy, the food tasted great and the service is really fast.
Shout out to Milo! Milo was incredibly attentive to his section during dinner hours on a Tuesday evening. Plates were taken quickly and drinks refilled without having to ask.
Interior is bright and modern. Lots of space for diners. Really surprised with how much space there is compared to what it was before. The bathroom is nice and renovated as well.
Food options are great! Dinner included: sashimi (what!!!!), ribs, Cajun seafood boil including shrimp and crawfish, fried crab, oyster, marinated shrimp and more.
No complaints. Hoping they market themselves more so business can boom. The location is a pretty dead area. They will need to advertise a lot in order to be successful at this location.
