Introduction of the restaurant:
For much of my childhood, Golden Rickshaw was the full sense of what I deemed 'Chinese food'. This restaurant follows a very Western idea of Chinese, with large and meaty dim sims and your old friends Mongolian Lamb, Honey King Prawns, spring rolls, and prawn chips. And there's nothing wrong with that: I am always excited to see the plastic containers in a chopped-in-half cardboard box come through the front door, the smell of the food not too far behind.
A word of advice: if you are the nefarious prawn stealing type (like me) and you have ordered the special fried rice in a take-away box, dig into the corners and you'll hit the prawn motherlodes and your dining partners will be none the wiser. They stash them there for culinary equality, I suppose, but now you have the shortcut. Enjoy.
