YUM! Chef Kenny's Vegan Asian Cuisine was such a delicious surprise. If you want to try some great food, give this place a visit. The food is vegan, but it was enjoyable to all in my party who were omnivores. We tried the "fish" and orange "beef" bento box. The fish had a nice crispy outside and soft inside. It was covered in a light soy based sauce. The orange beef was crispy too; the pieces were more thin slices rather than chunks of vegan beef, so each piece had lots of the sticky sweet sauce! The veggie dumplings on the side were decent with a pan fried exterior. The sushi roll was also ok, nothing super remarkable. The salad tasted nice and fresh with a light peanut orange dressing. I also liked that we had the option to have black rice with our food at no extra charge; it was nice change from white or fried rice. The meal overall was very satisfying without leaving you feeling weighed down and heavy.

Amazing food - not just for vegans.  Every time we are in Houston we always go to Chef Kenny's.  Our carnivore friends enjoy our meals here too.  It is a crowd pleaser - something for everyone!
The Roti & Curry are TO DIE FOR!!

My fav vegan spot in Houston! I have craved so many of these Asian dishes and got them all placated here: sushi, Peking duck, Mongolian beef, lemon chicken, it's all here! The menu is diverse it's almost dizzying. Plus they're so generous. Because it's their 3 year anniversary, they have reduced prices on the weekend (we got the sushi boat for $48 rather than $68) and they're 20% off if you check-in on Yelp! And they gave us a free entree once we ordered past $40. I've come here 4 times and plan to come back many more.

What a coincidence. Last review at Kenny's was from 9/11. This review was from Earth Day 4/22. Nothing particular. It's Friday. My usual vegan Friday.
I wanted to try something "meaty" and "green". So, I picked Mongolian Beef and Spinach Salad. On the side, I ordered hot water as my drink and extra bowl of mixed rice.
The flavor Mongolian sauce was really good. I just wish they have Sichuan spicy sauce instead. The "beef" was juicy and tender. That's the way I always wanted. I also cook soy protein at home. It's hard to get the flavor deep inside of texture. So, this is an excellent dish for vegan Asian food rookies.
As for the salad, waitress suggested Spinach Salad because I wasn't sure of cilantro salad might be a little overpowered. Sure enough, this salad got lots of cilantro in there. Tops with "chicken" strips and fried wonton chips. Again, the "meat" was flavorful and completely separate from the vinaigrette dressing.
I came in about half hour before their mid-day break. I was grateful they didn't kick me out. The place has improved since my last visit. Yeah, I'm a fan of Chef Kenny's Asian Vegan Restaurant.

I've been here twice now and I'm in love with the sushi rolls. The spicy tuna and the dragon roll are it for me. I can order these two and leave there stuffed and happy & with some to spear. All my endorphins on cloud 9. I've had their general Tao's chick'n which is tasty and I'm a fan of their mixed rice vs the white rice. There's plenty on the menu to try & I'll definitely be back. I heard there's a Las Vegas location too.

my sister ally (vegan of 13+ years) absolutely loves vegan shrimp and has been wanting to go to chef kenny's since we moved to houston. she is going out of town for a month so we decided to bring her as a goodbye dinner and I am so happy she found this place.
we all absolutely loved our dishes but I cannot emphasize how delicious the general tso tofu was. the flavor was remarkable, the vegetables paired perfectly and were cooked to perfection. but the tofu. THE TOFU. the most delicious tofu i've had in my life with the most perfect texture. normally I like my tofu with less "breading" but it was not overbearing and allowed for a crunchy exterior and perfectly soft interior. I may have shed a tear.
GET THE TOFU. literally cannot recommend enough. will absolutely return.

A VEGANS DREAM! the staff was extremely friendly, the food was super good, they have SO many options to choose from & the portions were BIG with decent pricing (: 10/10 would r

Wow amazing food. Roti is warm and fresh. Great music in background. The eggplant tofu dish with mixed rice is delicious. The green tea is great. Would come back! The best vegan restaurant according to my husband who eats meat! Better than trendy vegan in my opinion

Chef Kenny's deserves all the hype and more! First of all their WHOLE menu is vegan which is so awesome! (especially for vegans)
I have been to Chef Kenny's twice and I was blown away both times. The sushi is so good and flavorful, orange chicken is spot on, and their shrimp is out of this world. I don't even like shrimp!! But if it's from Chef Kenny's... that's a different story.
I used to be vegetarian that's how I originally found out about this place but I'm not vegetarian anymore and I would go back time and time again. Hopefully this review helps you make your mind up to try this place. Might I add they seat you very fast and bring your food in a decent amount of time!

Awesome customer service, unfortunately do not remember the server's name.  She explained the meals in great detail.
Food was really good, would definitely go back.

So happy to find a vegan Asian restaurant. We ordered the dragon roll, chow fun noodles, Mongolian beef, dumplings, and egg rolls. The food was tasty and hit the spot if you're hankering for comfort Chinese food. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and even made kid friendly chopsticks for my daughter. The bonus sesame balls at the end of the meal were a real treat. We will definitely be back.
